Velton "Tom" Lee Sanders, 91, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023. He was born November 16, 1931 in Nash County to the late Shelton and Donnie Murray Sanders. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Ruth Wood Sanders; sons, Kent Brent Sanders and Timothy Sanders; grandson, Greg Sanders.

He is survived by two sons, Valton Greg Sanders (friend Diane) and Michael Lee Sanders (Patricia); four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

A visitation with family and friends will be Monday, September 11, 2023 from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home with a funeral service to be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Burial to follow at Sanders Family Cemetery, Spring Hope. Family and friends will gather at Greg Sanders Home at other times.
