ELSIE JOHNSON SHERROD
NASHVILLE -Elsie Johnson Sherrod, 91, died Friday, August 25, 2006. She was born in Nash County, June 10, 1915, daughter of the late Julius Johnson and Mary Bone Johnson.

Her husband, Johnnie Jackson Sherrod preceded her in death the year 1993, her brother, Hubert Johnson and her daughter, Ann S. Drake also preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters, Ruby S. Lee and husband, William R. of Garner, and Brenda Sherrod Duncan of Bunn; sons, Andrew J. Sherrod and wife Rebecca of Rocky Mount, Zollie O. Sherrod and wife, Karen, Eddie Monroe Sherrod and wife, Janice, Johnny L. Sherrod and wife, Betty, Roland J. Sherrod and wife, Joyce all of Nashville; sisters, Lessie J. Taylor of Plymouth, Eula Belle J. Medlin, Addlee Johnson both of Spring Hope; brother, Samuel Johnson of Spring Hope; ten grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.

The family received friends. Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 226. S. Barnes Street, Nashville. A gathering to celebrate her life was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2006 at Johnson Chapel, Nashville, with Rev. Ron Hawley officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
