ROCKY MOUNT - Ava "Carol" Sullivan, age 74, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023. She was born in Nash County on February 4, 1949 to James and Ava Taylor Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wilkins Sullivan; and brothers, James Exum "Jimmy" Smith, III and Robert Thomas Smith.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Sutton (Steve) of Greenville and Martha Bartell (Michael) of Fairfield; four grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kathy Sullivan Hardy of Nashville and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. |
