ROCKY MOUNT - Kattie E. Colbert, age 93, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023. Born in Nash County on September 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Bertha Mizell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George H. Colbert Sr.; her son George Colbert Jr.; her daughter, Kaye Colbert Nutter; son-in-law, Lee S. Hyde Sr.; her grandson, Lee S. Hyde Jr.; her sister, Yvonne Webb; and her brother, Frank Eason.

Katie is survived by her daughter, Christine Colbert-Hyde; her sons, Johnnie R. Colbert (wife Dee), Bruce Colbert, and Randy Colbert (wife Anne Marie); 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Annette Anderson and Melva Key; daughter-in-law, Alma Martinez Colbert; and son-in-law, Randy Nutter; a granddaughter-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside aervice will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. David Taylor officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside.
