ROCKY MOUNT - Ruth "Elaine" Hardy Griffin, age 90, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023. Born in Nash County on October 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John Keeling Hardy and Mildred Elizabeth Lewis Hardy. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Louis "Jack" Griffin; her brothers and sisters-in law, John Lewis Hardy (Carolyn) and Robert Keeling "Boot" Hardy (Betty Anne).

Elaine is survived by her sons, John Griffin (Phyllis), of Rocky Mount, and Doug Griffin (Robin), of Rocky Mount; her sister, Dee Ann Hardy Smith (Ben Gammons); four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nephews and niecest.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Pineview Cemetery. The family will be available to receive friends and relatives immediately following the graveside service.
