Helen Louise MacBrien Hultgren, age 79, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2022. Born in New Haven County, CT on August 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late James J. MacBrien and Helen Rebner MacBrien. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Katrina "Kat" Louise Easterday Hultgren.

Helen is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert "Bob" Walter Hultgren, Jr.; her daughter, Joy Hultgren of Castalia; her sons, James "Jim" Robert Hultgren of Wilson and Christopher "Chris" Lee Hultgren, Sr. of Rocky Mount; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; her brother, Alvin MacBrien and wife, Joyce, of Southbury, CT; a best friend; and several nieces and nephews.

Per Helen's special request, instead of taking the time to attend Helen's celebration service, she would prefer you to make the time to love your family, spend a day with them doing what he or she loved the most.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Helen's memory to the Nash County Animal Shelter, 921 First Street, Ext., Nashville, NC 27856.
