ROCKY MOUNT - Marvin "Dennis" Hedgepeth, age 71, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022. Born in Edgecombe County on December 25, 1950, he was the son of the late Felton Gester Hedgepeth and Mildred Whitley Hedgepeth. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Nancy Hedgepeth Daughtery and Dale Hedgepeth Webb.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Hodges Hedgepeth; his sons, Jeffrey "Jeff" Hedgepeth and his wife Sharon and Scott Hedgepeth and his wife Tina; his daughter, Wendy Hedgepeth Lewis and her husband Rassie; 8 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Vickie Griffin; brother-in-law, Tom Daughtery; two nieces.

A funeral service was held June 26, 2022. Burial followed the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
