ROCKY MOUNT - Linda Burgess Hicks, age 78, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022. Born March 24, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Dean Burgess and Hallie House Burgess. She is predeceased by her brother, Steve Burgess and her niece, Christi Burgess Viverette.
Linda is survived by her husband of 59 years, Melvin Bess Hicks, Sr.; her daughters, Julie Hicks Hathaway and husband, Bobby of Greenville, SC, and Alison Hicks Bradley and husband, Dave of Nashville, and her son Melvin Bess Hicks, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of Rocky Mount; nine grandchildren; her sister, Cindy Davis of Nashville; and a niece.
A funeral service was held April 19, 2022. Burial, Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Linda's memory to Avalon Baptist Church, P.O. Box 910, Battleboro, NC 27809. |
