Larry Randall "LongJohn" Whitley, 74, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022. He was born April 7, 1947 in Nash County to the late Omus and Dorothy Creekmore Whitley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by granddaughter Heather Leigh Whitley; brothers Harold, Cray, and Stuart Whitley; sister Hilda Wheeler.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Kathy Whitley; son Larry Whitley and wife Jennifer; daughters Lisa Hopkins and husband Rodney, Katina Webster and husband Tommie; brother Brent Whitley and wife Jane; sisters Sonya Stone and husband Wayne, Charlotte Sherron and husband ZT, Amelia Phillips and husband Charles; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren: several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation with family and friends will be Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 5:00-6:45pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm |
