William Timothy "Tim" Joyner

ROCKY MOUNT - William Timothy "Tim" Joyner, age 74, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Born in Edgecombe County on September 11, 1947, he was the son of the late Lee Joyner and Elsie Vick Joyner. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Lee "Bruce" Joyner, Jr.; and his sisters, Margaret Joyner and Bonnie Joyner.

Tim was a veteran of the United States Army. He attended East Carolina University. Tim was a local builder for many years before going to work with Autumn Care of Nash until his retirement. Following his retirement, he became the American Heart Association Program Coordinator with Nash Community College. Tim was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many, Tim will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Tim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rita Bryant Joyner; his sons, Seth Joyner of Boynton Beach, FL and Chris Joyner (Sharon) of Nashville; his grandchildren, Dylan Joyner of Orlando, FL, Adrian Joyner of Boynton Beach, FL, Cameron Joyner, Kaitlyn Joyner, and Connor Joyner all of Nashville; his brother, Mike Joyner of Rocky Mount; his sister, Joy Joyner Evans of Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Graveside Service to celebrate Tim's life will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Vick Joyner Family Cemetery off of S. Old Carriage Road, Rocky Mount, with Darrell Barfield officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Tim's name to a charity of one's choice.
