Herbert "Herbie" Dawes, 84, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021.

Born May 25, 1937, in Nash County to the late Belle Jones Dawes and Jasper Elwood Dawes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Mary Elizabeth Lancaster, and brothers Thad Dawes, Alton Dawes, Bill Dawes, and Norman Dawes.

He is survived by his companion of 33 years, Sylvia Tant, daughter, Susan Dawes Dhonau of Charlotte, Son, David Dawes (Pam) of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

Visitation is Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Nashville.
