ROCKY MOUNT- James Washington Sikes, age 74, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Born in Nash County on November 8, 1946, he was the son of the late Robert James Sikes and Edna Heloise Sikes. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Wayne Sikes, and William Grant Sikes; and brothers-in-law, Robert Perry, and Gene Perry.

James is survived by his wife, Debbie Perry Sikes; his daughter, Sandi Karin Sikes, of Summerville, SC; his son, James Bryan Sikes, Sr., of Cottageville, SC; his four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his sister, Louise Powell; his brother, Kenneth Lane Sikes and wife, Carol, of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service is pending at Pineview Cemetery. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers donations made be made in James' memory to the charity of one's choice.
