Mavis Surles Smith, 87, passed away March 7, 2021. She was born August 9, 1933 to the late John Henry Surles and Cora Tyndall Surles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Grover Hopkins Smith; brothers, Lewis Surles, Albert Surles; sisters Juanita Kennedy, Catherine Johnson and Lucille Robbins.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Smith Hawkins; sons, Danny Ray Smith and wife Kaye, Grover Alan Smith; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held 7 -8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9. 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. |
