SAMUEL "SAMMY" RAY LAND, SR.

WILMINGTON - Samuel "Sammy" Ray Land, Sr., age 70, formerly of Rocky Mount, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Born on May 10, 1950, he was the son of the late John Daniel Land and Bettie Eason Land. He was also preceded in death by his son, Samuel "Little Sammy" Land, II; his brother, George Land; and his sisters, Dorothy Rowe and Florine "Flo" Weaver.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Joyner Land of the home; his daughter, Tammy Land Dew and husband, Brian, of Wilmington; one grandchild; his siblings, Myrt New, Vivian Mcintyre, Duke Thornton, and Wainwright Land.

At the request of Sammy, there will be no visitation and no services. Burial of Cremains was private.
