SAMMY KAY ADCOX
BATTLEBORO – Sammy Kay Adcox, 65, passed away on July 23, 2008. Sammy was born on February 20, 1943 to the late Robert E. and Katie Watson Adcock of Battleboro. Brothers: Bob, Floyd, and Melvin Adcox and sisters: Mary Catherine Collins and Billie Dove Farmer preceded him in death.

Sammy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Grace Melton Adcox and his son, Lance, both of Battleboro. In addition, he leaves behind a sister, Gwen Adcox Johnson and her husband Jack; four brothers, Benny Carthoris and wife Sonja, Wayne and wife Dot, and Willie and wife Nancy and many special nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Sammy’s Life was held Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Johnson’s Funerals and Cremations on English Road with Rev. Horace Ward officiating. The family received guests at the home on 10641 Red Oak-Battleboro Highway. Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral and Cremations, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
