ROCKY MOUNT - Lona Faye Bass, age 91, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019. Born in Berrien County, GA on October 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Archie Hendely and Elizabeth Fender. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Clinton Bass, Sr.; and 13 siblings.

She is survived by her sons, Jimi Bass (Ellen) of Nashville, and Ronnie Bass (Jackie), of Pinetops; and daughters, Lynda Bass Bullock of Raleigh, Denise Bass Grossfuss of Rocky Mount, and Bonnie Bass Brantley (Wade), of Dallas, TX; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren,; sister, Vernell Bauer of Dallas, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Scott Scrimpsher officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery. The Family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
