MIDDLESEX - Marie Murray Strickland, 80, died on Monday, June 16, at Nash General Hospital. She was born June 20, 1927.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Harris Strickland; brothers, Richard Murray, Thomas Murray; and sister Colleen Linnell.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 7 p.m. at Stoney Hill FWB Church with the Rev. Ricky Anderson and Rev. James “Buddy” Rogerson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at her residence. Committal services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 19 at Hollywood Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughters; Sue Strickland of Middlesex, Jane Finch and husband Harry of Bailey; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Janice Bailey of Richmond, VA; brother-in-law: Everette Strickland and wife, Martine of Raleigh; sisters-in-law, Eloise Murray of Rocky Mount, Trudy Bobbit of Fries, VA and Eve Murray Richmond, VA.
