AUDREY M. HALPIN

AUDREY M. HALPIN

March 7, 1923 - September 30, 2018

NASHVILLE - This Sunday, after 95 years of hard work, love, and travel, our mom Audrey Halpin packed her bags one last time, fell peacefully asleep, and departed for her long awaited trip to see our dad, Eutch (Poppy), and our brother Chris. Mother to eight kids, grandmother to 19, and great-grandmother to an ever growing number (hundreds?). Aud was the matriarch of our family, devoutly Catholic, and a model of charitable generosity to her family and those less fortunate in society. Growing up a child of the Great Depression in Brooklyn, NY, life was never easy but it was always full of kids, friends, real stories of travel, and the bright side of everyday things like Spam spaghetti, burnt toast, and all things purple. An avid reader and devoted pen pal, mom treasured the written word. Surviving and picking up the slack are children Gene, Rick, Marian, Andrew, Eric, Julie, and (saint) Gigi, as well as our extended families. Thanks for everything mom, enjoy this last trip!

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Smile Train (smiletrain.org) or Community Home Care and Hospice of Rocky Mount (http://www.communityhch.com/locations/nc/rockymount).

Services will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Rocky Mount, NC and will include the Rosary Friday, October 5th at 6 p.m. followed by the regularly scheduled mass at 7 p.m. for those that want to remain. The funeral mass will be Saturday, October 6th, at 12:30 p.m. at the same church, with a luncheon following in the church hall.

Condolences may be shared at CremationSocietyNC.com
