Reverend JC Melvin passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018.
He was the son of Jeff Melvin and Lucille Tatum Melvin.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cathleen F. Melvin, three sons, Ricky Melvin (Joanne), Gregory Melvin (Carol), Andre Melvin (Sheresa); one daughter, Theresa Sylver (Marvin); one sister, Ardesa Lewis (Graham); two brothers, Johnny Melvin (Myra) and Lee David Melvin; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Two brothers preceded him in death, Jeff Melvin and Charlie Ray Melvin.
Services will be held Monday, August 6, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Sunset Avenue Baptist Church, 3732 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, with the Dr. Robin Fisher officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 10:30 - to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service in the Sanctuary of Sunset Avenue Baptist Church.
