Gordon Dixon Brunson, age 76, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2008. He was born January 10, 1932, in Ayden, North Carolina, to the late Keith and La Rue Brunson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Bobbie Brunson, his sister and her husband, Iva Lou and Leroy Hardee, his brother and his wife Joe and Ann Brunson, four children, Bobbie Gardner and her husband Randy, Anne Hunter and her husband Robert, Bill Brunson and his wife Trudy, and Dick Brunson and his wife Wanda; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 3:00 PM at the Red Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Rucker Burnette and Rev. Jim Upchurch officiating. The burial was at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation was at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Red Oak Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 260, Red Oak, N.C. 27868.
