Hazel Odelle Edwards Jefferys

Hazel Odelle Edwards Jefferys, age 88, of Spring Hope, passed away in Crystal River, FL on Saturday, May 5, 2018.

She was born November 24, 1929 in Rocky Mount to the late Mary Amanda Pittman and Ernest Joseph Edwards. She was the wife of Olander Hassel Jefferys.

She is survived by her children Connie J. Hopkins of Crystal River, FL, Olander "Lannie" Hassel Jefferys,Jr. (Sue) of Rocky Mount and Joseph "Joe" Earmon Jefferys (Sheila) of Spring Hope; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law, Betty Lindsey Edwards.

She was preceded In death by her husband, Olander Hassel Jefferys, her sister, Mary Rachel Edwards Lucas (J.D.) and brothers, Benjamin Franklin Edwards and Junior Otis Edwards (Christine).

Funeral service will be Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Odelle's home church, Holly Grove Baptist Church. Dr. Sean Lee and Dr. Mike Creekmore will officiate the service. Burial will follow service in the church cemetery.

Visitation for the family will be Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Spring Hope Funeral Home, 6 until 8 p.m. and other times at the home of Joe and Sheila Jefferys, 316 E. Nash St., Spring Hope .

Flowers or gifts in her memory to Holly Grove Baptist Church, 1640 Holly Road, Spring Hope, N.C. 27882 or the charity of your choice will be deeply appreciated.
