Norman Yates Chambliss, Jr., age 93, of Rocky Mount, passed away Friday March 9, 2018. He was a lifelong resident of Rocky Mount, born February 17, 1925 to Norman Y. Chambliss, Sr. and Julia Barrow Chambliss. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph B. Chamblis.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Yelverton Chambliss, children Martha Lamm (Wooten), Norman Y. Chambliss, III (Mary Ann), Rochelle Hill (Ned), step-daughter Jennifer Carroll (John) step-son Crayton Yelverton (Bobbi) and bother Mallory Chambliss (Mary); nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren. Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd, Rocky Mount with the Rev. Matthew Johnson officiating. A reception with the family will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall of Church of the Good Shepherd. Immediately following the reception, the service will conclude with a burial at Pineview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Norman's honor to the Church of the Good Shepherd or to a charity of your choice.
