ELMER "POPS" GRAY EVANS, SR.

Elmer "Pops" Gray Evans, Sr., age 79, of Nashville, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Born in Nash County on September 4, 1938, he was the son of the late Raleigh Elmo Evans and Enda Mae Armstrong. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Billy Maydock Evans, Sr.; and son-in-law, Mack Trevathan.
He is survived by his sons, Elmer "Gray" Evans, Jr. of Nashville, Ronnie Evans and wife, Kristen, of Nashville, and Johnny Evans and fiancé, Rebecca Parks, of Burlington; and daughter, Annette Trevathan of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack Evans, and Charlie Evans and wife, Linda; and sisters, Tempie Tolston, and Fannie Harper and husband, Bobby.
Services were held Monday, November 27, 2017 at Ridgecrest Worship Center, Rocky Mount with Rev. Larry Flowers officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
