Elisha "Jack" Rackley, age 87, of Nashville, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017. Born in Nash County, on May 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Worthy Rackley and Maude Ester Cockrell Rackley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eva Edith Rackley; and sister, Elsie Proctor.
He is survived by his sons, Randy Rackley and wife, Susan, of Rocky Mount, and Larry Rackley of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter: brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eugen and Christa Kunz of Germany; and five nephews.
A funeral service will be held on ­­­­Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Dr. Michael Cloer officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
