Marvin "Sam" Danny Proctor

Marvin "Sam" Danny Proctor, age 68, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017. Born in Nash County on September 4, 1949, he was the son of the late Marshall Durward Proctor and Lois Skinner Proctor.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Martha Hale Proctor; sons, Chad Proctor of Seattle, WA, and Brent Sykes of Rocky Mount; and daughter, Leigh Sykes of Raleigh; brothers, Charles Durward Proctor (Diane) of Rocky Mount, and Rudy Proctor of Pinetops; sisters, Brenda Weaver of Rocky Mount, and Kay Goff (Billy) of Rocky Mount; and several nieces.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Sunset Avenue Baptist Church, 3 Rocky Mount with the Dr. Robin Fisher and Pastor Steve Roberson officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Nash Hospice and Palliative Care, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
