Myrtlean Pridgen Ricks, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Born in Nash County on March 14, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Bertha Pridgen. She was also preceded in death by her son, Scottie Ricks; and one brother, William Hardy Pridgen.

She is survived by her husband, James A. Ricks of the home; son, Billy H. Ricks and wife Bev of Rocky Mount; brothers, Noah Lee Pridgen and wife Fannie and Allen "Bud" Pridgen and wife Cindy; sisters, Mary Pridgen Smith and husband Luther and Joyce Pridgen Sherrod and husband Roland and brother-in-law Robert Ricks and wife Rose; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Services were held Friday, September 29, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
