JOHN ARRINGTON
BATTLEBORO – John Hugh Arrington, 80, died Monday, March 10, 2008. A graveside service was held March 13 at Battleboro Cemetery with the Rev. Adrian Sawyer officiating.

He was born in Halifax County on Dec. 22, 1927 to the late Charlie Godwin Arrington and Emma Light Arrington.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Arrington Whitlow; a sister, Irene Arrington Butts; and brother, Wilson Arrington.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jean Arrington of the home; and sisters, Sarah Arrington Allison of Fredericksburg, Va., and Francis Arrington Yost of Portsmouth, Va.

Flowers are accepted or memorial donations may be made to Battleboro United Methodist Church, 229 E. Battleboro Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27809.
