Mary Bell Starling Ray, 95, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017. She was born October 24, 1921 in Cumberland County to the late Clarence H. and Minnie D. Starling. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James 13th Ray, Two infant children, and sister, Fannie Mae Starling Thames.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Alice Ray Dunn (Bobby) and Jamie Ray Mendelson (Rick) of Wilson; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence H. Starling, Jr. of Stedman, NC.
Graveside services were held Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Pineview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to the First United Methodist Church, PO Box 1423, Wilson, NC 27894.
