RED OAK NEWS

Spring will be another busy season at Red Oak United Methodist Church!

Jacob's Friends continues to grow and in March they will meet for a cook out and kite flying. For more information or to RSVP please call the church office.

The Red Oak United Methodist Church annual BBQ chicken sale was an incredible success with over 1600 plates sold. Thanks go out to all the volunteers, cooks, cleaners, ticket sellers, and of course the entire community for again supporting this ministry. You may recall that proceeds from the sale support Alzheimers NC. The annual awareness walk will take place this fall.

If you'd like to contribute to the Stop Hunger Now goal, you may mail a check made payable to ROUMC to PO Box 66, Red Oak, NC 27868. Be sure to put Stop Hunger Now in the memo line! Stay tuned for details on when and where the meals will be packaged.

Happy birthday to my aunt Tency Penny who celebrated her 88th birthday with a surprise lunch on Sunday, March 5! Dorothy, Audrey, and Suzy along with over 50 relatives attended this gathering at the home of her son, Earl, in Selma. Everyone enjoyed a catered lunch and time spent with family.

The Nash County WMU Meeting will be Tuesday, March 14 at Sharpsburg Baptist Church at 10:00 am. Lunch will be $5 each. This is a change from the original date.

Everyone's invited to Youth Sunday at Red Oak Baptist Church on March 19!
