WILLIAM JENNINGS HOLLAND SR. (May 20, 1930 – July 6, 2006)
ROCKY MOUNT – Williams Jennings Holland Sr., 76, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2006. He was born May 20, 1930 in Nash County, the son of the late Bud and Pattie Thorne Holland. He was a faithful member of Red Oak Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was co-owner of W.C. Reid Music Co. for 27 years. He continued his passion of servicing and tuning pianos until the very end. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eloise Collier, and two brothers, Wilber W. Holland and Milliard Avery Holland.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Margaret Barnes Holland; one daughter, Pam H. Joyner and husband Michael of Red Oak; one son, Bill Holland Jr. and wife Anne of Gallatin, Tenn., four sisters, Eva Brown, Lynn Hicks, Doreatha Richardson, and Dorothy Hardy and husband Sam, all of Nashville; two brothers, A.T. Holland Jr. and wife Bernice, Eugene Holland and wife Eloise, both of Nashville; three grandchildren, Jonathan M. and Richard J. Joyner and Joshua W. Holland.

The family received friends Saturday, July 8, 2006 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Bowling Funeral Home and other times at the home of Michael and Pam Joyner at 3936 Flat Rock Drive, Battleboro. Graveside services followed at 3 p.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with the Rev. Rucker Burnette officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to Bowling Funeral Home & Crematory, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, N.C. 27804.
