Floyd C. Shearin, age 79, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017. Born in Nash County on May 22, 1937, he was the son of the late Walter E. Shearin and Katie H. Shearin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Susie Brake Shearin; and brother, Buddy Shearin.
He is survived by four sons, Carl Shearin (JoAnn); Billy Shearin; Phillip Shearin; Warren Shearin; and Brad Pittman; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry Shearin (Frances); Sam Shearin, Roger Shearin (Sandra); and Troy Shearin (Ann); sisters, Charlotte Keen (Richard); Debbie Arnold (Phil); and Sue Crickmore; sister-in-law, Frances Shearin.
Graveside services were held Monday, January 30, 2017 at Brake Family Cemetery on Cokey Road with the Rev. Stan Brown officiating.
