Mary D. B. Tanner passed away on Novmeber 18, 2016. She was born on April 11, 1940. Mary was preceded in death by her infant daughter Jennifer Ann Brumble, her parents John M. and Mary N. Dias and her late husband Thomas Truett Tanner.

She is survived by her daughters, Maria B. Newcomb (Ashley), Lisa M. Brumble (Robert), Mary Foyd Tanner, Patricia (Pat) Tanner Dent (Dan), Candice Tanner Talbert (Van), Teresa (Trudy) T. Tanner, and Graylyn Tanner-Rice (Arthur); sister, Marjorie (Marge) Yunger (Austin); 3 grandchildren; 3 nephews.

Services were held Sunday, November 27, 2016 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Rocky Mount with the Father George Greer officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
