David M. Mumford of Nashville passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Sallie Mumford of Southampton County, Virginia.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marguerite G. Mumford; two daughters, Emily M. Sills (Timothy) of Red Oak, and Amy M. Carr (Scott) of Farmville; five grandchildren; one great grandchild expected in April of 2017; sister, Edna M. Whitley of Chesapeake, VA; brother, Alfred S. Mumford of Emporia, VA; three sisters-in-laws, Thelma U. Mumford, of Chesapeake, VA, Lynn C. Conyers of Knightdale, and Mary C. Atkins (Johnny) of Sumter, SC and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service was Monday, November 14, 2016 at Forrest Hills Cemetery, Nashville, with Rev. Ray Vick officiating.
