CLARENCE ALBERT “C.A.” STRICKLAND
SPRING HOPE - C.A. Strickland, 80, died Monday, February 18, 2008 at Nash General Hospital. A funeral service will be held February 21, 2008 at Ephesus Baptist church at 10:45 a.m. by Rev. Jack Edge and Rev. Tony Futrell. Interment will follow in the family cemetery.

C.A. was a devoted husband, “Daddy”, Pa, Father-in-law and friend. He enjoyed his gardens and was an avid reader. He served his country during World War II and continued to show his patriotism by being a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the Spring Hope Historical Society and museum, the Spring Hope Senior Citizens Club and he also served on the Nash County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He was a life long member of Ephesus Baptist Church.

C.A. leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Sue S. Staton and husband Dennis, two sons, Louis Strickland and wife Beth, Scott Strickland and wife Lisa, a special granddaughter, Christina Rose Strickland and a special grandson, Cooper Warren Strickland, all of Spring Hope. A special friend, Catherine Grice and devoted care givers, Doctor Shandal Emanuel and the staff of Eastern N.C. Medical Group.

C.A. was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Peggy Cooper Strickland.

The family will receive friends at Spring Hope Funeral Home Wednesday evening, February 20, 2008 from 6-8:30 p.m. and other times at the home.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contribution may be made to Ephesus Baptist church, 7300 West Old Spring Hope Road, or Spring Hope Museum.
