Christine Langley Walker

NASHVILLE - Christine Langley Walker, age 91, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016. Born in Nash County, NC on May 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late German David Langley and Judy Joyner Langley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Edward Walker; sister, Loretta High; and brother, Garland Langley.

Christine was a dedicated member of Rocky Mount Christian Church. She always put others before herself. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Christine leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Eddie Walker of Neely, AK; and James Walker and wife, Kim, of Nashville, TN; daughters, Martha Walker Lucas and husband, Shelton, of Nashville, NC; and Mary Etta Walker of Nashville, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Daniel Walker and wife, Heather and Tim Lucas and wife Susan; great-grandchildren, Riley Walker and Baylen Walker; and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, David Langley of Greenville, NC; and sisters, Alene Burnette of Rocky Mount, NC; and Frances Batts of Tarboro, NC; several beloved nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mickey and Rose Curlings.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Steven Kirkland officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
