John Ira Fisher

John Ira Fisher, age 82, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016. Born in Nash County on August 30, 1933, he was the son of the late Jerry Willis Fisher and Mattie Pearl Harper. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Patsy Faye Batton Fisher; and brothers, Clemon Fisher and Earl Fisher.

He is survived by his son, Willis Lee Fisher and wife, Audrey, of Beaufort; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and sister, Flossie Winstead of Nashville.

A funeral service was held Friday, June 3, 2016 at Arlington Baptist Church, Rocky Mount with the Rev. Bill Grisham officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arlington Baptist Church, 1500 Bethlehem Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27803.
