Meadie "Bennett" Lindsey, Jr., age 82, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016. Born in Nash County on October 2, 1933, he was the son of the late Meadie Bennett Lindsey Sr. and Nannie Strickland Lindsey. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lindsey; his sister, Nannie Lindsey English and her husband, Harvey and two sisters-in-law, Jane Mosley and Sara Mosley and his in-laws, Carl and Ora Mosley.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Mosley Lindsey; his two twin sons, Steve Lindsey and wife, Nancy and Phil Lindsey and wife, Jenny; 2 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; brother, Paul Lindsey and wife, Jackie; sister-in-law, Pat Lindsey; two brothers-in-law, Garland Mosley and Jerry Mosley and wife, Lana; several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Services were held Sunday, April 24, 2016 at n the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Jimmy Reavis officiating. Burial was at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
