John Robert Gessaman

John Robert Gessaman passed away on April 18, 2016. John was born on November 22, 1946 in Kettering, Ohio. John is preceded in death by his father Stanley Loran Gessaman.

He is survived by his wife Verna Loyd Graff-Gessaman; children, Lea Graff Gessaman Wernick and husband Ephraim of Bethesda, MD and Kurt Loren Gessaman and wife Haley of Charlotte; two grandchildren; his mother Alma Elizabeth Gessaman of Centerville, OH, his brother Donald Gessaman (Jane), one nephew; mother-in-law Verna W. Graff, sister-in -law Virginia L.Graff; one niece;

Visitation will be held at the home, 4009 Hawthorne Road from 4-7 pm on April 20. A funeral is planned for Thursday, April 21 at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Rocky Mount. A private interment will take place in Glen Allen Baptist Church Cemetery, Glen Allen, Virginia.

Donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Rocky Mount, NC or the United Way of the Tar River Region.
