Nashville’s Harold D. Cooley Library will celebrate its new facility with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, January 17 at 1:30 p.m. Thursday will also be the library’s first day open.
The new, 6,000 square foot facility will be open the same hours as the previous facility. The library, located at 114 E. Church Street, will be open on Monday’s and Thursday’s from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. The facility will also be open on Saturday’s from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Town Manager Preston Mitchell said the library will not be open on Saturday’s in January but will start back its regular Saturday schedule in February.
The new library on Church Street is housed in the former Joyner’s Grocery location. The new facility has four meeting rooms and will house 12 computers.
