Momeyer town hall to relocate
In the coming months, the Town of Momeyer will be moving its offices to a new facility across the street.

The town purchased the former home of Russell and Blonnie Windley in April 2007. The house was built in 1951.

Mayor Kenneth Parker said the home would be an ideal location for the town’s new offices. “It just kinda suited our needs,” Parker said of the home. “Location had a lot to do with it.”

The board awarded a $134,395 contract to Calvin Davenport, Inc. to renovate the home. The renovations are expected to take around 12 weeks to complete.

At the board’s regular meeting on Monday morning, Parker provided an update on the renovations to the home.

“They’re in the tearing out process now,” Parker said.

Board members in attendance also voted on colors for the home’s vinyl siding, shutters, floor and countertops.

The current town hall office is located in Momeyer’s Fire Department. The Fire Department owns the facility and will utilize the space once the town hall moves its offices.
