Wal-Mart to open March 5
Davis
Wal-Mart is now accepting applications for its Nashville location, which is scheduled to open on Wednesday, March 5.

The 143,000 square foot facility is looking to hire around 250 employees, said Manager Abigail Davis.

Davis was recently named the manager of the Nashville location and moved from Mississippi. She has worked for Wal-Mart for 18 and a half years.

“I’m very excited about being here,” Davis said. “This is my first store (as manager) so I’m really excited about that. I have a fantastic team that will be with me.”

Davis said though the Nashville location will not have a tire and lube express or a vision center, it will have a Subway, Woodforest Bank, a hair salon and nail salon. It will also be 24 hours.

Being from a small town herself, Davis said she is looking forward to working in a small town and hopes Wal-Mart will be an asset for the Town of Nashville.

“We are here to help the town,” Davis said. “We are here to be an addition to the town. We want to be an asset to the town.”

A special grand opening celebration will be held on March 5, when the store opens, and Davis said several donations will be made to local organizations on that day. Wal-Mart will also issue several grants on that day and throughout the year.
