MILLARD OSCAR WINSTEAD

Millard Oscar "Poss" Winstead, 78, of Sandy Cross passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015. A graveside service was held Thursday, December 31, in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Jimmy Reavis officiated.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marlene Joyner Winstead of the home; his sons, Steve Winstead and wife, Janet of Sandy Cross, and Greg Winstead of Sandy Cross, and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Wessie Dozier Winstead; his sister, Violet Sanders, and brother, James Winstead.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in "Poss's" memory to the Coopers Volunteer Fire Department, 2408 Volunteer Road, Elm City, North Carolina 27822.
