Jeanette Scott McAlister, age 87, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Born in Greenville, SC on September 8, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Truman Jay Scott and Flora Jane Hall Scott. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth McAlister; her sister, Betty Jean Scott Rich; and her brother, Elmer Scott.
She is survived by son, Gary McAlister of Greenville, NC; two grandchildren; sisters, Edna Scott Campbell of Macon, GA, Beatrice Scott Smith of Greenville, SC and Shirley Scott Carter of Greenville, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 505 S. Englewood Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Brandon Dees officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.on Friday.
