Katherine Blue Fountain, 84, passed away September 15, 2015. Katherine, or Kacky as her friends loved to call her, was born in Raeford, North Carolina, on September 18, 1930. She was the middle child of Julian Hubert Blue and Katherine Floyd Blue.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Tillman Fountain, Jr. of Rocky Mount; daughter, Katherine Fountain Belk and son-in-law, Richard Marion Belk, of Rocky Mount; and son, Richard Tillman Fountain, III and wife, Emily Preyer Fountain of Raleigh; five grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Ann Fountain Dill and husband Thomas G. Dill and her sister-in-law, Margaret Fountain Paylor and also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Kacky is predeceased by her parents, Katherine Floyd Blue and Julian Hubert Blue, her sister, Shirley Blue Whitaker; her brother, Julian H. Blue, Jr., and her nephew, Brian Cameron Whitaker; her sister-in-law Susan Fountain Thurston and husband Dr. Thomas G. Thurston; and brother-in-law John H. Paylor, Jr.

A memorial service will be held First Presbyterian Church, 153 North Church Street, Rocky Mount, at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015. Rev. Chris Berardi and Rev. Mary Kathleen Duncan will be officiating. Immediately after the service visitation will be held in the Church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Rocky Mount, N.C. or a favorite charity.
