Carolyn Marlow Smith, age 86, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015. She was born on January 28, 1929 in Scotland Neck, the daughter of the late Albert Marlow and Edna Harper King. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. Smith, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Leasa Renee Harper Smith; step-son, Raymond Eugene Smith; and her sister, Nell Wall.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Parker King (T.W.) of Nashville; son, Robert Wayne Smith of Castalia; step-children, Albert H. Smith, Jr. (Sandy) of Austin, TX and Glenn A. Smith (Dee) of Chesapeake, VA; daughter-in-law, Becky Smith of Portsmouth, VA; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; sister, Betsy Sanderson of Nashville; and brothers, John King, Jr. of Nashville and Danny Ray King of Castalia. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 12 Noon at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 North Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount with Rev. Robin Fisher officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
