JIMMIE RUSSELL AMMONS

Jimmie R. Ammons passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015. He was born on June 15, 1936 to the late Worth Washington and Ernestine Ammons. He was preceded in death by his parents and his precious son, Jimmie Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Bonnie Smith Ammons, and brother Jerry (Shirley) of Dunn.

A service will be held in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Cremations, Nashville on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 7 pm. Pastor Ray Wheeless and Brother Charles Thompson will be officiating. Visitation will follow.

He will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery and receive honors for his outstanding service to his country. The family welcomes family and friends to visit the home.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Duke University, 710 West Main St., Suite 200; Durham, NC 27710.
