NASH COUNTY -- Nash County's Parks and Recreation Department wrapped up its Spring Baseball League with a Coach-Pitch showdown last Wednesday at Spring Hope Elementary School.

Red Oak was a 24-9 winner over the Nash County Nationals in the contest.

Hitting leaders for the game were as follows:

Nash Co. Nationals: Parker Bunn 3-1B, 1-2B, 2-R, Jeremiah Browning 2-1B, 1-2B, 1-R, Gavin Craft 1-1B, 1-2B, 1-R, Cameron Carter 2-1B, 1-2B, 1-R, Dillon Bunn 3-1B, 2-R, Landon Brown 2-1B, 1-R, Jacob Narron 2-1B, 1-3B, 1-HR.

Red Oak: Joseph Gibson 3-1B, 2-R, Landyn Worrell 3-1B, 2-R, Benjamin Edgerton 1-1B, 1-2B, 2-R, Joshua Chappell 3-1B, 3-R, Hunter Ayscue 3-3B, 3-R, Carson Tadlock 1-1B, 1-R, Colin Cary 3-1B, 3-R, Jackson Lynch 1-1B, 1-R, Blain Hale 2-1B, 1-2B, 2-R, Donta Marshmon 1-2B, 2-3B, 3-R, Will Edwards 3-1B, 1-R, Aaron Fleming 2-1B, Ethan Harrell 1-1B, 1-R.

Nash County Parks and Rec will host a pair of tournaments this weekend at Ennis Park in Red Oak.

The Statewide Athletics Committee 10-Under Baseball East Sectionals will run from today through Sunday and will feature six teams. Nash County does not have a club in this tourney.

Also this weekend, the SWAC 12-Under Baseball Central Sectional will be in Red Oak. Six entrants will compete for the title, with Nash County opening today at 6:30 p.m. versus Tarboro.

A double-elimination format will be utilized at both events.

Admission to the tourneys are $5 for adults and $2 for children 12-under.

The Nash County 9-10s are in action this week at the Tar Heel League District 6 Tournament at the Knightdale Community Park in Wake County.

Nash County opened in the seven-team bracket on Monday versus the Louisburg All-Stars.
