Mildred Fields Johnson

Mildred Fields Johnson passed away on Wednesday March 25, 2015. Mildred was born in Carthage, NC on November 4, 1921 to the late William Neil Fields and Mae Cameron Fields. Besides her son and parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Fentress R. Johnson; brothers, Charles Fields and James Fields; and a sister, Katherine Fields Averitt.
She is survived by her daughter, Caroline Johnson McCall and her husband Earl McCall, Sr. of Battleboro; one grandson; a sister, Margaret Hackney of New Bern; and a sister in law, Beatrice Fields of Sanford.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Todd Allen officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
Flowers are accepted or donations in Mildred's name may be made to the National League of POW/MIA Families, 5673 Columbia Pike, Suite 100, Falls Church, VA 22041. Arrangements by Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Rocky Mount.
