Effie Walston Bass, 97, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015. She was born October 1, 1917 in Edgecombe County to the late Levi Edward Walston  and mother, Mittie Effie G. Walston.
She is predeceased by husband Sidney Harold Bass, step-mother Ottie M. Walston,  and step-brother Donald Walston.
She is survived by sons Edward Bass and wife, Cathy  of Nashville, Brent Bass and wife, Frances of Nashville; daughter Vivian Warren and husband Roger of Momeyer; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 6 from 7-9 pm at Momeyer Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held Saturday February 7 at 2 pm at Momeyer Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetary in Nashville.
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Momeyer Baptist Church, 4967 Momeyer Way, Nashville, NC  27856.
