JESSIE WILSON GARRIS HICKS
ROCKY MOUNT – Jessie Wilson Garris Hicks (Mama, Ma, J.W.), 87, died Saturday, June 17, 2006.

She was born July 12, 1918, in Edgecombe County, the daughter of the late Elias and Ella Bobbitt Garris. She was the widow of Sam Hicks and was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Minnie Garris, three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Burnice and Lynda Garris, Billy and Betsy Hicks, Larry Hicks and Melvin and Linda Hicks; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Howard Harrell officiating.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to New Vision Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 4923 Oak Level Road, P.O. Box 1119, Rocky Mount, N.C. 27803.
